                                                        JOB TITLE:  Pride Club Site Leader 

 

SUPPORT EXEMPT:  No                           

SALARY LEVEL:  Support - Hourly           

DEPARTMENT: Community Education

LOCATION:  Assigned School Site                        

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:  12-Month        

REPORTS TO:  Before After School Lead       

GRADE: 111                                                             

 

SUMMARY:  

The Before and After School Site Leader performs leadership recreation work in a lead capacity and is responsible for leading the before/after school program at the assigned school site.  The leader also serves in a lead capacity over part-time Before and After School Aides and in a collaborative capacity with other site leaders at the school sites.  The leader also works independently under the general supervision of the Coordinator for Before and After School programs

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • TB (tuberculin) Test - Negative Results
  • Fingerprint Clearance Card (IVP) https://psp.azdps.gov/services/fccFormTriage
  • Knowledge of principles and methods used in organizing, conducting, and supervising a program of before and after school childcare, including educational and recreational activities.
  • Knowledge of theory and philosophy of recreation and/or group work and its application to individual and group behavior.
  • Knowledge of techniques of planning, organizing, and promoting program activities.
  • Knowledge of first aid and safety practices and procedures.
  • Ability to implement Kids at Hope Belief System in a before and after school childcare environment.
  • Ability to develop and foster adult-youth relationships.
  • Ability to plan and organize recreation and education programs.
  • Ability to train and direct employees involved in before and after school programs at the school site.
  • Ability to maintain financial and activity records and produce written documentation in the English language.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with peers, subordinates, supervisors, and the general public.
  • Ability to work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others

  • Job related experience preferred

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Inspects sites, picking up paper and trash;
  2. Supervises and participates in recreation programs;
  3. Performs routine clerical functions such as delivering flyers and answering phones for before and after school site programming or general office work;
  4. Sets up apparatus and other equipment and issues supplies;
  5. Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  6. Demonstrates superior seamless customer service, integrity, and commitment to innovation, and efficiency.
  7. Supervises youth who are enrolled in the Pendergast Before and After School Care Program.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:  

Skills are required to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to periodically upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions.  Specific skills required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include using pertinent software applications.

 

Knowledge is required to perform advanced math, review and interpret highly technical information, write technical materials, and/or speak persuasively to implement desired actions; and understand complex, multi-step oral and written instructions.  Specific knowledge required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job includes pertinent codes, policies, regulations and/or laws and licensing.

 

Ability is required to schedule activities, and/or meetings; often gather, collate, and/or classify data; and consider a variety of factors when using equipment.  Flexibility is required to work with others; work with data utilizing defined, but different processes; and operate equipment using standardized methods.  Ability is also required to work with a significant diversity of individuals and/or groups; work with data of widely varied types and/or purposes; and utilize a wide variety of types of job-related equipment.  In working with others, problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans.  Problem solving with data requires analysis based on organizational objectives; and problem solving with equipment is moderate. 

 

RESPONSIBILITY:

Responsibilities include working under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods; providing information and/or advising others; and monitoring budget expenditures.  Utilization of some resources from other work units may be required to perform the job’s functions. 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands:  occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling; and some fine-finger dexterity.  Generally, the job requires 70% sitting, 15% walking and 15% standing.  The job is performed under a generally clean and healthy environment.
