JOB TITLE:  Technology Teacher

SUMMARY:   Assumes professional responsibility for providing learning experiences that develop in each student the skills, attitudes, and knowledge to meet/exceed core curriculum standards.  Achieving academic excellence may require that the Technology teacher work collaboratively with other members of the school staff and parents.

 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 3 years teaching experience in various grade levels
  • Arizona Elementary Teacher Certification
  • Meets Criteria of Appropriately Certified
  • Experience with effective technology teaching strategies in teaching software and hardware skills
  • Strong technology skills in up-to-date computer software digital and social media;  including word processing, keyboarding, database, spreadsheet, Web page development, presentation, digital video and audio editing, merge processing and graphics applications.
  • Current on new instructional technologies and their use and a willingness to continue to learn additional instructional technologies
  • Knowledge of online assessments and skills needed to complete these assessments
  • Knowledge of Arizona College and Career Readiness Standards across multiple grade levels and content areas
  • Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Ability to obtain Computer Technology as an approved area

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s Degree in Educational Technology
  • Reading and/or Math Endorsement

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Design and develop engaging, interactive and instructionally-sound curriculum that addresses various learning styles and is accessible to all students
  2. Create daily lesson plans aligned with National Educational Technology Standards (NETS), Arizona College and Career Readiness Standards, and district initiatives
  3. Provide a nurturing, supportive, and positive classroom climate that encourages student responsibility, using positive motivation, clear classroom routines, challenging instructional strategies and effective classroom management techniques.
  4. Works collaboratively with classroom teachers to plan and deliver technology integrated lessons that support technology across the curriculum, both in the lab and in the classroom.
  5. Uses technology to increase student engagement, conduct research, solve problems, increase critical thinking, manipulate data, and differentiate instruction.
  6. Consistently monitors student achievement through formal and informal assessment
  7. Evaluates pupil academic and social growth, keeps accurate records, prepares progress reports, and communicates with parents
  8. Perform such other duties and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Superintendent/Designee

 

EVALUATION:  Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provision of the Board policy or evaluation of professional personnel. 

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret education materials and programs; ability to write reports, procedure manuals, and correspondence; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of teachers, students, administration, and the community.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: 

Ability to work with mathematical such as probability and statistical inference; ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
